Committee Member Profile

Background: Born in Hammersmith and raised in Willesden, Pinner and Buckinghamshire, David grew up in a household often full of music, of the recorded variety, as both parents were lovers of classical music. His father, Arthur, was a radio and TV engineer, so a radiogram and television were always in use. David took piano and viola lessons as a child.

David qualified as a technical author, working in the radio and TV industry (Dynatron Radio) and then for Neve Electronics, manufacturers of broadcast and recording studio equipment.

He recently retired from a successful community transport scheme which he ran for many years, a registered charity which employs over eighty volunteer drivers and five wheelchair-accessible minibuses to take clients where they need to go.

Music choices: A wide range of genres, from pop to 'popular classical'. Over the years, a liking for opera and less familiar composers is developing. He has a 'reasonable' hifi system and too many records and CDs.
