PROGRAMME FOR FIRST HALF OF 2016

Unless stated otherwise, our meetings begin at 7.30 p.m. with a short break for refreshments

Monday March 7th "Peter Turrell - Classical Guitarist"
Local musician Peter Turrell will play a variety of classical music and describe how he manufactures guitars.
April 4th "Mahler and his Symphonic Soundworld"
What does Mahler's First Symphony owe to the little-known composer Hans Rott. Did Mahler really have the gift of prophesy? Did he compose his Seventh as a tribute to his hero Wagner? With copious musical examples Dr Jim Pritchard will consider these and other intriguing Mahlerian questions.
May 9th "Andy Kirkham and his Band"
Moxy Garbanzo play music with an Eastern European tinge and are an unusual combination of tuba, accordion, sax, guitar and vocals. They are mature in age and musical accomplishment and quite fun to watch!
June 6th "Patron's Programme"
Famous composer and conductor, John Rutter, will recount more anecdotes from his long and continuing career and play selections from his latest recordings.
July 5th "The Magical Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber"
Andrew Slatter presents a selection of music from the many stage musicals created by the acknowledged master of them.
July 25th "Summer Piano Recital"
Jonathan Wortley will play another recital in his usual professional way. More details will be available nearer to the event. Please note that this event will be held at The Chapel, 64 Park Lane, Norwich.
